Bengal Gram, also better known as dark brown peas or desi chana, is widely regarded as an important pulse, owing to its nutritional properties. It is used for human consumption as well as for feeding to animals.  India ranks first in the world in respect of production as well as acreage.                

Cowpeas (Vigna unguiculate) are small, kidney-shaped beans in the legume family. Cowpea also called as southern-pea and black-eyed pea is oldest annual legume grown throughout India for fresh or dried seeds and pods are commonly used as human food and also used to feed livestock. It is a rich source of proteins and fibers.

Faba Beans (Vicia faba) also known by other names, such as broad beans, fava beans, and Vicia faba, belong to the family of pea and beans, that is Fabaceae. Faba beans are a good source of carbohydrate and protein, contain a low amount of fats and are used for both human consumption and as an animal feed.                

Kidney beans are a variety of the common bean. The common bean is an important food crop and major source of protein throughout the world. These beans are reddish brown in colour with a mild taste when boiled, but easily absorb flavours from whatever seasonings they are cooked in. They have high quantities of folic acid, calcium carbohydrates, fibre and proteins amongst other essential nutrients.

Lupin (Lupinus albus) sometimes called lupini or lupine is an annual legume grown throughout the world both for their seeds used in feed and food. Their high concentrations of protein and energy mean they are recognised internationally as a valuable ingredient in stock feed.                 

Moth Beans (Vigna aconitifolia) commonly called mat bean, moth bean, matki, Turkish gram or dew bean. Moth Bean seeds are a good and potential reservoir of Proteins and other essential minerals and vitamins.  It is rich in protein & calcium in it can make it an excellent supplement to cereal diet.                

Red Lentil also known as Masur dal in India is a high-protein, high-fiber member of the legume family. It is mostly eaten as Dal by splitting into 2 cotyledons, deep orange red or orange yellow in color. Lentils vary in size, and are used in many forms, with or without the skins, whole or split.                

Black Gram (Vigna mungo) is also known as urad bean, minapa pappu, mungo bean or black matpe bean is widely grown in Indian subcontinent. Black gram is rich in nutrients, such as protein, essential minerals, various vitamins, fiber, and antioxidant compounds that can help boost your health in a number of ways.

Green gram (Vigna radiata) also known as mung bean or maash is a small, round olive-green bean with a sweet flavor. It is a rich source of low fat protein, has a wide amino acid profile & contains no trans fats. It also contains potent bioactive compounds with antioxidant, anti-inflammatory & antimicrobial properties.                

The Pigeon pea (Cajanus cajan) commonly known as red gram or toor, tur or Arhar. It is mainly eaten in the form of split pulse as ‘dal’.  These hulled, split legumes break down easily when cooked, making them an ideal thickener for curries, soups and stews.
